Third year for my plants, and all three have shoots already...

My cascade last year apparently was rather busy... Trying to clean out around them I pulled a four foot root out that was running just under the soil; trying to get away.

Will post pics once they start to look like something.

I am also in Upstate NY and on yr two of my hops. I have not seen any shoots but I put manure and mulch last week so something might have popped up in the interim. I have some wild hops growing around me and I have not seen any shoots on them.

How was your yield last year?

I always thought that was funny too ;)

Well, downstate, mine are starting also, but I'm thinking about cutting them back tomorrow. I feel like it's too early to let them go. We're still getting below-freezing nights here. What do you all think?

With about 8 inches of snow left on the ground I don't expect to see mine for a while.

I live in western NY. West of upstate! My bines are still hibernating. Need to weed whack around them and mulch soon though. I love my hops. Soon to be overwhelmed with them! I love it!
