Should I do anything to sanatize my hop pellets before throwing them in my secondary? I am concerned about contaminating the batch with hops that have touched my hands, table, etc...

Would it be okay/advisable to give the hops a squirt of starsan before putting into the carboy?

Just toss them in. Don't worry about it

Not really.... Just cut the pouch open & pour them in... They will eventually sink. Especially if you cold crash..

The acids in hops make it hard for anything to live on them, so between the alcohol and the hop acids, you are golden. :rockin:

Wash your hands, sanitize anything they will touch. It will be fine. You really should be going from the package to the fermentor, it shouldnt be touching the table, the floor, your toddler's mouth, etc. Keep it simple!

Even if all of those things happen, I wouldnt worry too much about it. The alcohol and hops in fermented beer makes it very difficiult to contaminate. RDWHAHB

Another for just throw them in loose, no additional sanitation measures required.

As others have stated, you can just toss them in, but instead of listening to anecdotal evidence, here's an article from BYO that gives a little more detail on why sanitation is not necessary (as Sailingeric alluded to above).
