So, I love the caramel notes in the Sam Adam's Boston Lager but I don't have the means to lager now, especially with it being summer. Does anyone have an ale version that has a similar taste profile? I'm thinking something like this.

    6.6 lbs LME
    1 lb 40L
1 oz 5-7 HBU Bittering hop (60 mins)
1/2 oz flavoring hop 5-7 HBU (15 mins)
    1/2 oz flavoring/aroma hop 5-7 HBU (2 mins)

You will want to use WhiteLabs san fran Lager yeast and ferment between 60-65. The hop schedule I have for Boston Lager is:

    90 Min Boil

    0.50 oz Tettnang [4.50 %] (60 min) Hops 12.1 IBU
    0.50 oz Hallertauer Mittelfrueh [4.00 %] (60 min) Hops 10.8 IBU
    0.50 oz Tettnang [4.50 %] (15 min) Hops 6.0 IBU
    0.50 oz Hallertauer Mittelfrueh [4.00 %] (5 min) Hops 2.2 IBU
    0.50 oz Tettnang [4.50 %] (0 min) Hops -
    0.50 oz Hallertauer Mittelfrueh [4.00 %] (0 min) Hops -

    0.50 oz Hallertauer Mittelfrueh [4.00 %] (Dry Hop 14 days) Hops -
    0.50 oz Tettnang [4.50 %] (Dry Hop 14 days) Hops -
