OK, so this afternoon, I brewed Midwest's partial mash Cascade pale ale. Everything went fine, until I chilled the wort down, and got ready to transfer to the fermenter. At that point, I realized I had neglected to add the last oz of pellet hops at flame out. Figuring never up, never in. I added the hops to the fermenter, pitched the yeast and shook the billy hell out of it. The question is, what will the really late addition of the hops do to the brew? There were two prior additions of Cascade hops, 1 oz at boil and one oz at 45 minutes into a 60 minute boil. Both were made on time.

So what am I going to get?

    Thanks in advance.

well you effectively dry hopped. but you are supposed to do that in the secondary not the primary. you may get some good flavor out of the hops but not much aroma and 0 bittering (which you wern't going to get any anyway). dont leave it like that for to long maybe 2 weeks. longer and you risk some off flavors.

    +1 Tipsy.

The CO2 from the fermentation decreases the effect of dry hopping...or something like that. I would have waited and dry hopped for a week instead of throwing it in the primary. But no harm, no foul. It won't make the beer worse.
