Question about krausen in carboy (picture) and bottling...

Cold crashed for 3 days.

There is no krausen on top, just dried up on the sides. When i gently set it on the counter, some of the beer melted the krausen and it can bee seen falling to the bottom. I'm going to bottle in a couple hours.

Is this OK?

 

Yes, it is fine. Just make sure the gravity has hit terminal before bottling.

 

Should be fine, though how long did it ferment for before you cold crashed? And did you reach terminal gravity?

 

Won't hurt a thing as long as the FG has been stable for 2-3 days. Getting some krausen residue in your beer is no big deal.

 

If you're careful with the auto siphon at the beginning,you'll leave that krausen residue behind. As long as it was at a stable FG,you're good to proceed. After using my 6G better bottle on a batch of oaked stout this week,I noticed how easy the BB are to clean out with a couple good rinses! I guess,even though they're PET,they have a smoother surface that releases the crud better than pails & other plastic FV's do?!...makes me wonder how well/easilly the glass carboys clean up?
