Q'san

    Hi, im a chef and at work we use Q'san to sanitize benches chopping boards etc diluted down to bout 15ml in 1lt of water according to the back of the bottle they say, is food safe at that level, leave 3 to 4mins and good to use the active ingredient is Alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride

    i was wondering if anyone knows if that is suited for brewing or stick with Star san

    I wondered this when I started brewing, since I was used to using quaternary sanitizer at my old job. A quick Google search shows it shouldn't be used for anything that contacts beer. It kills head retention apparently. It can also have a nasty flavor if you make it too strong.
