I am brewing a Irish Red Ale and I had a oz of Willimette and 1oz of U.S. Goldings, the recipie called for the Willimette to be put in at the 60min boil and the Goldings at the 30min of the boil.

Can anyone see a taste or smell issue with them being reversed in when I added them? Goldings at 60min and Willimette at 30min?

    Thanks

General rule of thumb on flavor and arroma is that they boil off after about 15 mins (flavor) or 5 (arroma) although milage may vary. So it is going to be a bitterness quality and quantity you might have more - or less depending on which has the higher alpha acids.

I bet it is going to be close either way personally.

I'd look up the acids and tell you but I recently bought a package based on name and according to BeerSmith it should have been 5.5%, package said 3% same name (German H something) Maybe I got a different strain >shrugg<

Could be some, but will depend on the AA of the batch used. However I do not think it will make that big of difference. So RDWHAHB!

Yea the AA difference isn't much
    Golding 4.5%
    Willimette 4.7%

So the AA difference is almost now.

    And thanks for the RDWHAHB!!!!
