So I was rushing putting two batches into kegs and a apparently I switched my In and Out posts on a corney keg. I noticed when I was trying to put gas into it and it was very difficult to get the gas line off and on. So now that the beer has been sitting for three weeks (primed for carbonation) I was curious if I am safe to bleed off the excess pressure and switch the posts or what? I'd just need to ramp up a little carb to serve after that right (use co3 charger)? Or should I just charge it up and drink it and do better on the next fill?

you should be safe to just swap your posts. afterwards just purge it to remove the oxygen you may have let in, check your carbonation level and adjust as neccesary, drink and enjoy.

lol - i do that all the time. Just switch them you should be ok and repurge. Remove/loosen the top first too to relieve more pressure.

A little starsan spray, and leave the purge valve OPEN. If you just vent, then let it close, and try unscrewing posts, some CO2 will come out of solution as you do so and will pour beer out the out tube. Leave the valve open, do your work, sanitize while doing so, and then close everything up and re purge.

Victim of this as well! Last night I was filling the keg and trying to clean the carboy and was getting frantic to finish everything and still get some sleep. However, when I took the posts out of the keg for thorough cleaning i noticed that one of the poppets wouldn't stay properly and then mixed up which was which and wasn't aware of the differences since they both screwed onto each side (though they would be different threading). Its carbonating right now so I don't want to disturb anything but once it finishes I will swap them out correctly!
