Does anyone know a good way to put sanitary fittings on a march or chugger pump head? I know that I can get threaded ferrules but what is the point? If FWIW, everything else will be 1.5" tri-clamp.

Also, while we are talking about pumps: I have one march pump with a polysulphone head and I need to get another. I have a small case of ocd so I plan to sell that march and get a couple of the chugger center inlet ss head pumps. Is that a wise thing to do? I like the ss over the poly, but is it worth switching to chugger?

Don't worry about threaded fittings not being sanitary. The inside of the pump head's aren't, either. Not even close.

That makes sense. Given what I see when I take my March apart. I was thinking about getting 2 of the center inlet ss chugger pumps. I need one more and I don't feel like spending extra on the March and still have a poly pump head.

On a related note, to save money someone on here in DIY section bought a 3-piece NPT ball valve and a 3-piece tri-clover ball valve and swapped pieces to make both of them NPT in and Tri-clover out for his pumps.

Yep, it helps add the sanitary fittings along with the ball valve on the outlet. Genius idea.
