Protest Porter

On Wednesday Feb. 2nd of the Lord's year 2011 homebrew legislation died in committee (again) in MS. In honor of this not so momentous occasion and mark against freedom I brewed up a brown porter. Couldn't decide what to call it as it was also brewed on Ground Hog's Day. Just wanted to share I decided on Protest Porter.

Edit: no now I see, according to Wikipedia, she was born in "rural Mississippi". Reading further, actually Kosciusko, Mississippi. I can't even pronounce that...

 

Oddly enough Kosciusko (pronounced Koz-e-us-ko - it's French) doesn't make a big deal about her being from here. No signs around the community saying 'Home of Opera' etc. unlike many other small towns, Crawford for instance has multiple signs recognizing it as the home of Jerry Rice, or Tupelo and Elvis, etc. She did build a large and nice united way center here that acts as after-school care for a ton of kids. I gave a dog I found to one of her sisters 6 months ago or so.
