    i made a pumking clone that is very high ABV. It's a 15 gallon batch of all grain and after loses, testing, and tasting it was about 12 gallons bottled. We made an error in calculating priming sugar and only added about 8oz of dextrose. It's been carbonating for 4 weeks at 70f. Am I over reacting? I opened one with very very little carbonation. Thanks.

    Hmm, let's see. I would have used 12 ounces of sugar for 12 gallons, so you used about 33% less than I would have.

    I'd say that you're definitely going to have less carbonation, but many people would use 8 ounces for 10 gallons of finished beer for a lower carb level but you might find that it's good enough for your taste.

    With a pumpkin ale do you know the "desired" CO2 levels? I understand that its subjective, but a range would be nice. I was shooting for 2.3 but i calculated it at 10 Gallons. is 2.0 too low? How long will conditioning take?

    I like my bottled beer at 2.4-2.6 volumes. "Too low" is subjective, as you said but I would find 2.0 pretty flat.
