I’m not convinced that noise makers are any less suspicious than the sloshing sounds.

Last two times I shipped, they asked me what was in the package. Not wanting to be a liar I told them it was live yeast samples. Everything went through ok.

As someone who has been called back to the store by Fedex because "it sounds like bottles of wine", I think the penny rattlers have their place ; )

If you already have a label created and the box sealed they don’t ask many questions. If asked, I’d say it’s a care package for a friend or family member. They really just want to know if it’s potentially hazardous, so as long as your answer does sound hazardous or cause you to act strangely, they don’t care.

At a shipper near my old house, I once printed bottle labels and entry forms for a homebrew contest, then later the same day shipped the beer from the same store. Next time I was in there they asked how I did in the competition. When the same staff was there on later trips they asked how the home brewing was going and if I was entering any more contests. Never questioned the fact that I was shipping beer with them.

They probably scrutinize more or less depending on state. Wine is legal to ship in or out of MA but beer is illegal. Makes no sense, but it is what it is.

Yeah, but what reason would they ever have to think that it’s beer and not iced tea, motor oil, essential oils, lotion, personal lubricant (maybe that will be my new answer), bbq sauce, homemade ketchup, sea water, or any number of other liquids that they don’t care about?

    What’s in the box?
    A care package.
    Sounds like a liquid...
    Yeah. Porno mags and lube.

Like a hazardous amount of lube? Or just pre-hazardous?

Pre-hazardous. Grandpa is a dirty old man...

This isn't the turn I thought this discussion was going to make, but I have to say I'm pleased. But now I fear large shipments of lube with my beer going forward.

I expect everyone to now brew a "Porno Mag" NEIPA and a "Personal Lubricant" Barleywine. Maybe a "Dirty Old Man" Old ale.

A shipment arrived yesterday from @Chorgey. Great stuff, I love Mischief! And as you can see one bottle of the blood orange tart ale is empty in the pic, it went perfect with dinner last night.

Thanks @TBC . This haul looks fantastic. I'm so excited to try something from Sloop, I've never gotten my hands on anything from them.
