You agree though; Indy would be completely ****tarded to bring back Peyton, right?

As I recall, there's something quirky with his contract. They can't trade him before the $28M is due. If they pay him and bring him back in 2012, there's something that would make cutting him at that point cap-problematic for 2013. Don't recall all the details.

EDIT: And, as much as it pains me to say.... Green Bay's good enough where them dropping a 49-bomber isn't necessarily an indictment of the defense.

Nobody else finds David Wilson's run-fail last night endlessly amusing?

As a big Michigan fan, I do.That could have been the longest safety in football history.

And I would be terrified if a healthy Manning went to the niners, it would be game over. It seems like Harbaugh and Manning would never get along though.

Yes unless there is $ tentacles as you mention. Or it's a behind closed doors handshake that there will be only 1 year where both QB's are on the roster with Manning starting.

And yes, that was a stupid RB. Looked more like a dumb kick returner.

    This just in:

My backup QB is better than your starting QB:

Flynn named 'NFC Offensive Player of the Week'

unrelated, I would really like to understand why our defense is so terrible. It seems we have talented players, and "people" keep saying Dom Capers is a defensive guru (well, not so much this year....but last year!), but yet we still blow.

I'd like to know the same dang thing about the Pats defense. Exact same scenario.

Except for the whole "we have talented players" part - we're kinda lacking there beyond the front 7 and one or two decent-to-good DB's...

When Julian Edelman's our second-best defensive back (and it's not even that close between #2 and #3).......

that's fine. we'll just get another backup QB that's better than everyone else.

    it's kinda....what we do.

As for mediocre D, its still more about pts against. When NE, GB and NO usually are ahead of course the opponents are abandoning the run & gaining yards. They all score quick too so the D gets wore out as well. But all three are middle of the road with PA.

As for GB, losing Nick Collins to IR definitely hurt but no pressure at the QB is a huge problem too. They definitely gamble on D thus the high amt of picks and being #1 with 31 in that category. NE is #2 with 23. These two teams are mirror images of each other regardless of trash talk... :p

What surprises me about Green Bay's D... where are the sacks? They got more picks than anyone else, but had just about the fewest sacks of anyone in the league (despite teams throwing against them like crazy).

I've thought about this a lot (too much, in fact). I think it's 10% truth and 90% propoganda. Just watching the Pats play D this year.... there's no way I'd call them "average," like their PPG would imply.

Do I trust them to get a stop when they need it? **** no.

Do I trust them against an elite QB like Rodgers, or Brees? **** no.

Do I trust them against a ****ty QB? **** no.

They've gotten some turnovers, but I'd rather see a defense that can consistently keep the team from moving the ball versus one that's just opportunistic. Because there's always that ONE WEEK when the opportunities aren't there.

I do feel loads better about NE's ability to generate a pass rush this year than last, but it hasn't resulted in any discernible improvement in the secondary's performance. Hoping that shifting McCourty to safety will maybe stabilize things a little, but it's damn late in the season to be making those kinds of changes.

And I'm not even joking about Edelman being one of our best defensive backs. Aigh.

Smartass steroid comments aside, I believe it is for one reason: Cullen Jenkins went to the Eagles. Now every team can double up on the Claymaker without having to worry about an inside pass rush. The Packers can't blitz Woodson every play cause they'd get torched in the secondary if they did.

They're going to have to visit SF 1st if it the wins go as expected. They definitely have the tougher road. But I'd never guarantee anything in the playoffs based on history over the last 5-6 years ;)

Where are the sacks? Who cares, when they pick AT LEAST 1 or 2 a game that almost always result in a score...some games I think the defence scores about as much as the offence. They are not sacking because they are intercepting! I will take that anyday over a sack... keep crunching those rating numbers, they mean near nothing.

Speculating that Flynn will jump ship like a rat on the Titanic is also kind of silly. The guy gets great money for being second string and besides he would be really pissed at himself when Green Bay is the 1st team in the NFL to win 3Superbowls back to back.

Dude, I am glad to see a fellow Packer fan on here, but I have to say this, so please take it well. That entire post was idiotic. Period. I really hope you are smarter than that.
Interceptions do not replace sacks. They are most often the result of pressure on the QB, something GB hasn't done much of this year. Why they are getting the INTs is a mystery to me because of that. I personally would like to see more pressure on the QB. That would undoubtedly lead to more INTs.

Matt Flynn makes $550,000 in base salary this year. Matt Flynn Contract, Salaries, and Transactions To think he would be satisfied with that when he could be making several MILLION a year as a starter somewhere else is just plain stupid.

And don't go saying that the Pack is gonna be a three-peat. They haven't even won 2 in a row yet, let alone three. Let's have one step at a time, shall we? You sound too much like Cape when you say that sh!t. ;)

    Just talking trash... ;)

I do agree but the INTs are still there...

Just talking trash again and I do think he is due for a HUGE pay day and I seriously hope GB pays the man what he is worth.

Just more trash talk, I do realize that it is a far stretch (as in near impossible) but I am still allowed to hope...

Sound like Cape? Hey now, That may be insulting to someone...

See that's my problem. I believe too strongly in karma. I really am afraid if Packer fans get too obnoxious it will bite us all in the ass. It already happened with the potential perfect season, it happened to the Pats a few years ago and it could well happen to the Pack.

The Saints and Air Brees are peeking at the right time and are a healthy group. As long as the O line protects Breesus, he will pick any defense apart. He didn't break Marino's record by making alot of bad decisions.

Awaits Breesus. Actually it'd be better if it's -5 and dry. Officially winter coat weather.

Assuming of course some sh!t doesn't change the 1st round outcome

That is the million dollar question. We do play in a dome and have not had many cold weather games outdoors this year. He did play at Purdue so the cold weather is nothing new for him. And the way I look at it, most of the guys on any giving team are not from the place they play anyway. A guy from Cali that happens to play in Green Bay or Chicago is not gonna be any better off then a guy from a southern dome team. And if It's really cold and blowing20+, no one has an advantage....... Unless your team has Darren Sproles on it.:D

both teams would have to play in that kind of weather and that would favor the team that can run the ball. which the pack and the saints have not been the best at.
