The size of the stone perhaps? MoreBeer's kit has an inline filter but I don't see one on there. In any case email them @ [email protected], I've always had quick responses from that channel.

That looks convenient! I was looking at buying a stainless extension for the Northern brewer kit, but that Williams one looks pretty good. Thanks

The solid want is the way to go. I'm not sure if the people who sell ones using soft tubing have ever actually used the product because all it does is curl up once it hits the cooled beer. I retrofitted mine with a broken racking cane.

I've been using the stainless wand type from Williams for a number of years and it works very well for me.

I'm not certain, but I think the main difference in the two kits are the ss diffuser. The more expensive one uses a very fine 0.5 micron stone. The other probably uses a coarser version with larger pores, but I'm only guessing that this is the difference. Don't know what else it could be.

I suspect the real difference is the regulator. The one I bought was $60 and I never could understand why it was so much. If you look where the hose hooks to the regulator you can see some teflon on the economy model. I believe the oxynater regulator was the only one available until recently.

You can buy either size stone from NB for 13.99 each.
