    Hi,

Sorry if this seems a daft question :-

Just tested a bottle of my first batch and it tasted a little flat with fairly poor head retention. I bottled straight from the primary fermenter, which was a week ago, I used 2 carbonation drops per 750ml bottle which now seems a little light. My question is, would it be possible at this late stage to open the bottles and pop another drop in each, or as I suspect would that ruin the carbonation that has already taken place?

    All help appreciated

    Stevie

One week is too soon. Give it three weeks. Opening them now would be ruinous!

Yeah, definitely too soon to open and too soon to worry. Give it a couple more weeks and I bet it'll be fine. Welcome to the forum.

Yeah, don't open 'em and give em more time.

Though I will say that all my beers have carbonated just dandily after about 5 days, I don't use the carb drops.
