Newb Questions

To start I have been researching and plan to turn my brewing electric.

I would like to clone the setup used in this video, http://www.highgravitybrew.com/productcart/pc/EBC-III-with-Infinite-Power-Control-306p3858.htm that said could i have that control panel built for cheaper and what would be needed to do it. Also to do this would I need to have the 220V ran to my brew room. I do have an electrician that would be helping me (as I do value my life LOL) but would like to have everything ready when i do get going on the project.

Personally I find highgravitybrew to be over-priced for what it is (not to mention their inconsistent pricing and customer service leaves something to be desired). I've started to put together a parts list on Amazon. Have everything but the controller and it's only up to $50. Will report my findings once I figure out the controller end of it.

 

The high gravity EBC-III panel is ready to go out of the box. The cost of the internal components is probably $400-500.

I was also interested something similar to the EBC design for my eBIAB setup and this is what I came up with.

This project was about $300 including panel, heating element, power cords, wiring, RTD sensor etc and I was able to add some features in the process. The cost can add up quickly if you start buying $50 RTD sensors, expensive PIDs, etc.

 

Ive never really thought about Ebiab never done biab but it is definitely an option. I will have to see how that works
