New keezer setup advice

    I am about to start installing the components for my new keezer and need some sanitation advice. I will have two homebrew taps and one commercial tap. On the commercial tap i will be using a sankey D connector. Does that connector need to be taken apart and sanitized? Also, do the fluid lines need to be cleaned and sanitized? Please forgive my ignorance. I am still new to kegging. Any other advice would be helpful.

    I would clean everything whether new or used.

    New, because there could be machining debris and/or lubricants on the metal bits (couplers, shanks, faucets) or cleaning agents remaining (tubing).

    Used, because god only knows what might be growing in all those parts...

    Yes yes and yes lol Clean as much as you can. When I built my keezer I wanted to make sure I could take everything apart and clean as much as possible. I have kind of the same setup as you; youd be surprised how much stuff gets in the Sankey tap. Good way to make sure you wont kill yourself is to clean as your are through with using. Say you your keg is tapped, take apart what you can, flush it out, and clean it. That way when you want to use it next, you dont have to worry what kinds of things may have grown on it since the last time. You'll save yourself a buttload of time by doing all the clean up ASAP instead of letting it sit. Btw as far as beer lines are concerned, sometimes its just easier and cheaper to replace them.
