I'd like to try the new NB marris otter extract by making a simple SMaSH with just a 6 lb. jug of syrup. Any suggestions on a hop and hop schedule for a full boil recipe? I have never brewed with MO before.

Maybe not even strictly a SMaSH, I guess the goal is to make a really simple session beer with the MO shining through. I always like to have one of my taps be a nice, easy, and affordable brew.

    Thanks for the help.

I just did an EKG/MO SMaSH with additions at 60 and 15. That one seems to be a popular combo and I'll be able to tell why in a few weeks here.

Planning an extract (NB) MO and amarillo SMaSH.

    6G end of boil - 1.050 OG. 30 IBU (R)

    9lb MO syrup
    14g amarillo at 60, 30, 5, and 0 mins, and 28g in dry hop.

Plan to ferment with Wyeast 1968 ESB.

    Will report back.

MO makes a great base for a single malt/hop pale ale or IPA. It pairs pretty well with American or English hops if you want an IPA. Try centennial, columbus, amarillo, etc. if you want to go the American route.

Is the MO syrup really 100% MO? No carapils or anything?
