    Ensenada The old SS Catalina ferry that used to take passengers from San Pedro to Avalon on Catalina Island. Sad ending for a great ship. You're up JB.

    Nakhodka is in the Russian Far East just west of Vladivostok.

    Sorry, I was unfamiliar with that area and to think I have a graduate degree in Russian studies. Have traveled all over Russia with the exception of the Far East; Дальний Восток. thanks for the enlightenment. :mug:

    Still many time zones away from the offered skyline.

    Sorry folks, thought this would be easier than it is. Would anyone care for a hint or two? "Last established city" I thought would give it away along with many time zones from Vladivostok.

    Nice that you cited the name of St. Petersburg from 1914-1924, but no, not Petrograd. Go further north. :)
