I'll give you a little hint... right now that part of the country wouldn't be my first choice for a vacation.

Horseshoe Bend, Arizona! Been there - there's a short trail to the rim from a parking lot that you can't really see in the top center of this pic.

Looks like the Appalachian region, maybe somewhere in WV

It is along the Appalachian, but not WV (too far south).

    mountainous
    tropical
moderate density housing - not an island
    moderate property offsets - "
    no pools
large single family homes - extended family
LHD - rules out former commonwealth countries/asia (this isn't china, period)
stadium/arena left and mid level of picture
use of green lighting in separate places in picture
    no flags - damn
white box van mid/left appears to be of NA origin, just looks like a Chevrolet

I'm trying to narrow this down. Looks like a medium-sized city, unless there is a lot more of it outside the view in the pic. So not thinking it's one of the big ones, like Rio, Brasilia, Sao Paulo. Mountainous--that leaves out most of the Amazon basin. No ocean in view, so not likely coastal. Still, a lot of the country remains, and lots of mountain cities.

OTOH, it could be a nearby city from a major one. Nova Iguacu?

Not the poster, but you are correct. The switchback road visible thanks to the snow is Black Bear Pass, which is a great 4wd road. Its particularly shaky if you take BBP into Telluride, slick rock and steep descents.

Yes, it is Telluride. CO. Black Bear Pass was quite the challenge in a VW based Dune Buggy.

Did BBP with my father's FJ40, thought that was pretty sketchy. A manx would be a challenge, to say the least. :rockin:
