Every day I drive by this farm market that has what appears to be a stainless milk can sitting out front. I'm wondering if something like this could be used for fermentation. I have no idea what the capacity is but it looks like its probably about 5 gals. I also see alot of these painted and sitting on porches/front lawns. I wonder if they are stailess under the paint.

Has anyone used one of these?

Most milk cans were galvanized steel, although there was a switch to stainless shortly before the switch to tank trucks. The cans were 5 gallons, so you could carry two easily.

A 5 gallon SS fermenter with a carrying handle to boot would be fantastic!

I can think of several things, that don't involve cows.
