Marked my carboys...

    I brewed 2 batches last weekend and then after going from kettle to carboy I scratched my head wondering how high to top up to... arggg

    After searching HBT for solutions I found some posts with this marking technique and it worked great! Etched into the glass...

    Looks great ... What did you use to etch the glass?

    If I remember my chemistry (took enough of it in HS and college) you'd mask with wax and etch with hydrochloric acid. Let's see if my memory was any good.

    Yep thats the stuff... had a coupon for michaels.

    Try Hydrofluoric Acid. They store hydrochloric acid in glass bottles. Don't feel bad, I had to look up how it was spelled.
