Anyone ever use clips for tubing into their pots using magnets?

Also I was thinking about using magnets in the pot o give me measurement points.

Any reasons why hats. Bad idea?

If your pot is aluminum or stainless, magnets won't stick.

For 303/304 series stainless (not sure about 316), you'll need to use very strong rare earth magnets if you have any hopes of them sticking. Even then, the pull won't be all that much.

I use a sight tube installed on my boil keggle to give me the inside volume level.

BTW, sight tubes can add some serious bling to your kettle/keggle too... :D

Just a little something I designed/built into my keggle.

316 is no good either, the 300 Series steels are Austenitic. You're going to want 400 Series steel (like 409) because it's Ferritic.

Go for a sight tube, way easier/cheaper in the long run than getting your hands on some 409 pots =)

17-4 PH is a magnetic SS as well. That's what my stir bar is made out of! 416 is a magnetic SS too.
