Ok, so made my first batch of beer ever last month. After fermentation transferred to a keg and force carbonated with CO2... everything goes great, end up with awesome tasting beer! YAY!
BUT!!!! with the last bit left in the keg I bottled 5 bottles using a counter pressure filler. capped on the foam and put the bottles in the fridge, everything looked fine. about a week later i opened one of the bottles and poured it into a glass... the beer LOOKED amazing!!! All remaining sediment had dropped out, but apparently so did almost all of the flavor... I ended up with 5 bottles of very pretty slightly beer flavored water! any thoughts on what could have happened????:drunk:

No Idea I would see if it repeats it self next time, it seems strange.

Did the bottled beer seem carbonated to the same level as the keg?

i have bottled beers from my keg where there was still carbonation in the bottled beer, but definitely less than in the keg. This caused the beer to lose a lot of its character and liveliness.

@pie_man yes! It was still carbonated, but definitely less so than in the keg. This WAS my first time ever bottling, so maybe I just need to give it another go...

If I plan on bottling from the keg I usually increase the keg pressure about 5 psi a couple days prior...seems to help with the carbonation differential syndrome.

My guess would be drop in carbonation, but that is just a guess.

What kind of beer was it and how old was it when you drank the 5 bottles?
