I got two new carboys recently and a few bungs.
I mixed up a batch of apfelwein today and was attempting to fix the airlock but the bung kept popping back out. Well, before I could think about it I had shoved the bung through the top of the carboy and splash....into my apfel.

Is it gonna be ok floating in there for six weeks or should I rack to another carboy?

I think once the carboy is drained, I may be able to get it out and save the vessel. I would hate to throw it away.:drunk:

It happens to most everyone. Don't sweat it. Retrieve it when the batch is done.

Wow, that's absolutely awesome. I've gotta get a couple of those. Speaking of bungs, does anyone else notice that when you sanitize your bungs in StarSan they come out smelling horribly? Whoops, sorry about the hijack...

These are nice, too. They're great for starting a siphon, too. Only problem is I keep losing the little white plastic thingy on the small stem........
