Hello all, call me crazy, I have an idea, and its gonna be fun.
My boys are getting into Legos, and they love spending that time with dad. The cost of buying new sets is not a likely option for us so here is where you come in.. It works like this, if you have some old Legos / and sets sitting around the house, that you do not use, send them to me and I will send you a special bottle. Make a donation and receive a gift in return. Send out a private message. I will send you a bottle, :) Once I send out 20 special bottles It will end.. If the sets are really good or super vintage you will get 2 bottles. Pm for details.

He's bartering glass for plastic. It's to bad I don't have any Legos, I could really use a new bottle. ;-)

Love the idea! But my kids are 5,4, and 2. I'd never be forgiven if the legos begin to vanish!

Sounds like bartering...... i.e. selling. All the same thing.

Love the idea, honestly I do, but I gotta agree, it at least pushes the boundaries of the definition of selling.

I like this idea. I even asked my wife if we could spare some of my son's legos. She said no, of course. He's 3 and still plays with them. But everyone seems to be making a big deal about selling wine. I'm pretty new to all if this. Is it illegal or is it just against the forum rules. Honestly, I wouldn't mind buying a bottle from some of the people on here. Or maybe even trade bottles. It's not every day that you get to try someone else's home brew.

Buying, selling, compensating for materials, using as a commodity for barter for anything other than perhaps someone else's wine or beer is illegal without a license.

If you and the op wanted to exchange bottles of brew, however, that is not against the law. Nor, as far as I know, would it be against the law to give homebrew as a gift.

So bartering booze for booze legal...bartering a toy for booze illegal... got it.

Good luck OP...I no longer have lego's to offer unfortunately.

ANY medium of exchange for homebrewed beer, cider, mead or wine is illegal. Doesn't matter if it's legos or cutting the grass. If the exchange is implicit in the deal, it's a no no.....

To my mind there is also the grey area of whether or not a review or recommendation has a monetary or implicit value. For instance, if Cape Brewer (I use him because I know he has a commercial setup these days) were to send a Revvy a bottle of his HOME brew with the understanding that should Revvy like it he should review it favorably on the forum. I suppose that has a implicit value as forum members might be more likely to buy Cape's COMMERCIAL brew. As far as I know, however, not illegal.

Yeah, that's. Not illeagal, that's just called marketing. Product reviews done from samples handed out with out compensation is done all the time.

What if the trade was plastic legos for a neat glass bottle? It's not his fault if the bottle was not empty...

@broncobob Now you're just trying to play semantics. If the alcohol control officials catch wind they bring in people whose jobs are semantics, you will lose.
We aren't telling you this because we have a vendetta. Were trying to keep you and this website on the right side of the law.

so trade a bottle of wine for a can of cheap beer....but to protect the beer in shipping, pack the box with legos.
