    Hey Guys,
So a buddy brought over some Kona Longboard Island Lager and my wife seemed to like it (for me it was middle of the road and nothing special). Anyway, since she is not a "beer drinker" and had a few of these, I would like to give it a shot.... The beer.....

I see from their website they use:
    • Pale 2 Row
    • Mt Hood
    • Hallertau
    • Sterling
    • Millenium

And these are the numbers they provide:
    • 20 IBU
    • 4.6% ABV
    • OG 10.95 P (1.044)

I figure 9lbs of 2-Row and 1lb, Wheat Malt, and Czech Pilsner Lager yeast (WL2278) should give me a good base (1.050), but I am completely lost trying to get those four hops to blend to 20 IBU. Any help is appreciated!

    George

    Oh, 5 gallon BIAB setup.

Try their Big Wave and their Koko Brown. Really tasty stuff. The Longboard is just meh to me too.

    As for your question...

    I dunno.

Ok..... Is it safe to assume that the order the hops are listed on their website would be the order they are added to the boil? Making Mt Hood the 60 minute hop?

I love Kona beers. A few years ago, I emailed their brewmaster to ask a few questions about Fire Rock pale ale, and he was super gracious (and it turned out he went to Cornell, so we talked about Ithaca a bit). I would email him and run your recipe by him.
