I'm building a new keezer and have a question about fans. After reading all the post's about how to build a fan, I'm wondering why we don't just go to walmart and pick up a 5 dollar desk fan. They are very small and have a nice output.

Is there safety concerns with these from running 24/7?

    Cheers!:mug:

For me in order of significance, it's that a desk fan runs on AC power, produces too much heat, blows far stronger than necessary, and is generally unwieldy, compared to an 80 or 120mm 12vdc muffin fan, which cost less than any desk fan...

    Cheers!

In addition to the very well articulated reasons above, it was easier for me to run the smaller wire through a tiny hole in the collar. I suppose you could cut the plug wire and then resplice it, but I wouldn't be happy with that.

Plus I like to tinker around and build stuff.
