Never had this happen. Just making sure it's ok. A couple drops spilled out.

Using a gigayeast double pitch. It was a few months old so one of the workers at the company told me to just make a 1.5l starter with it.

It went a little nuts. ImageUploadedByHome Brew1407582163.419408.jpg

This has happened to me several times and I have never had a problem. You can try a few drops of fermcap, that seems to help. If not take it off the stir plate and let it do it's thing. The yeast look like they will be ready to go when you pitch.

I would call that a beautiful starter! Healthy, robust fermentation. Very nice.

A word of caution however: you've seen that the yeasties are willing to go fermentation crazy. They're probably going to act nutso like that when you pitch into the wort. A blowoff tube or major headroom would probably be a good idea.

This happens all of the time to me... Your yeast is very happy. As stated above FERMCAP is your friend... A few drops of that and the bubbles drop out. It about $6 for a small jar of it, but will last for years!

Fermcap-S... 1 drop per gallon of starter wort is plenty. Add it when boiling your DME wort, prevents foaming and boil overs there too.

Do leave it on your stirplate, you're growing yeast. Otherwise it will just ferment and grow far less.

It looks really good. You can cold crash it when it's done and pour off most of the starter beer, then pitch the slurry. If you have enough yeast, you can save some for your next starter.
