Increasing Clarity in Beer?

    I have used irish moss the last 10 minutes of the boil and would like to know of other techniques used to increase clarity. Thanks

    Make an extra gallon to keep all the hot break, and hops out and allow you to have some extra wheb bottling.

    Do a search for cold crashing and extended primary.
    Cold crashing causes yeast, etc. to drop out of suspension.
    A few weeks in the primary makes a nice compact yeast cake and gives plenty of time it to clear.

    Yeah,that's the easiest way,I do it all the time. It'll settle out clear or nearly so. That's what you want particularly with extract brews to get cleaner flavors in the bottle.
    But,of course,any style of brewed beer will always be better clear. Certainly more appetizing. Then while the beer is carbonating & maturing in the bottles,in a few weeks (for average gravity beers) it'll settle out very clear. Try not to rouse the dusting of trub in the bottom of the bottles going into the fridge for at least a week,better at 2 weeks. The trub compacts on the bottom,ant chill haze settles out,& the 2 week time gives thicker head & longer lasting carbonation.
