I bought a 600 GPH marine Blilge pump that I've connected to a 1000mA 12V power suppy. The pump is connected to a 25' immersion chiller.

The problem is...every 15 minutes, it just stops. If I unplug and wait 10 min, it'll go another 15 min.

    What's the deal?

Is there any info. on the pump as to how much amperage it draws? It sounds like you are tripping an overload protector on the power supply. When it cools down and resets you can power it up again and it will work fine but if the pump is rated for anything over 1 amp (1000 milliamps) it will keep happening.

Most of the 600GPH bilge pumps I'm finding are rated at 3.5 amps or 3000mA. You're overloading the power supply.

Oh man, I was mistakenly thinking that 1000mA was 10 amps so I thought I was good.

I guess I'll go out and buy a 3.5 amp power supply - thanks!
