    Hi Guys,

I just brewed my second batch ever (NB's Caribou Slobber) and I put it into my fermentation chamber I built. The chamber has a Hydro Farm Thermostat and a heat mat for it's temperature control (doesn't have any refrigeration mechanisms, just heat mat, because my house is around 64 most of the day and even less during the evening).

I wanted to stabilize the temperatures during primary by using my well insulated fermentation chamber. I just realized that the thermometer can only be programmed down to 68 degrees.

    some specifics if this helps:

    Caribou Slobber
    Danstar:Windsor Ale Yeast
    5 gallons in glass carboy

currently thermostat says it's 67 degrees inside the chamber and the carboy's attached fermometer says it's around 64 degrees.

Looking to see if anyone else uses a hydro farm thermometer and mat and/or if you think what I 'm doing will work? Is temp too high? Should I just turn off the system and let it be cold but somewhat stable inside the chamber.

    Thank you!

I only use a swamp cooler for temperature control, but 64° is ideal for your Slobber.

Woke up this morning to the air lock being blown off carboy. Foam all over fermentor. No biggie, it's waterproof, but what a mess!
I put on a blow off hose and this thing is really going. Fermometer says carboy and wort is currently 72 degrees (it's 66 inside chamber).
Will just have to wait and see if beer turns out okay.
