I'm considering setting up a large sanitation tank to dunk/store any items that need to be sanitized. Any idea how often I would need to change the idophor mixture?

Not very long. Can say with any specifics but I would go more than 24 hours and that is if it is stored cold and out of any light.

This is why I have switched to star san.

Iodophor in the proper amount does not last long at all, maybe only a few hours. Your plan really calls for star san.

Make the starsan with DI water, clean everything first, and it will last forever (well, not forever but you get the idea).

StarSan is a bit more expensive but being able to re-use it makes up for the cost.

    StarSan it is then!

I just want to be able to dunk/soak my carboys, racking cane, etc. Make brewday a lot simpler.
