Brewed 5.5 gallons of a Golden Drak clone (1.12 SG) recipe for my wife. I had made 2 starter batches of yeast starter with Wyeast 3787 Trappist Ale. When I pitched the small starters I noticed I had pitch one starter of 3787 Trappist ale strain and a different yeast strain starter of White labs 1098 Brittish ale yeast.

Any idea how this might afftect the final product with 2 different strains and probably too large of a volume of yeast pitched?

It will just be a little milder on the esters, which since 3787 is not a low ester strain, and its a high alcohol beer, is likely to be just fine. Id expect 3787 to overpower anything from the 1098 taste wise. both have fairly similar attenuations, and floculations,-- in short it will be fine. Just be careful if you raise the temp to get it to dry out at the end of fermentation, im not sure about 1098, but other british stains ive used emit a rotten grapefruit juice ester when they get around 75F+ that, i personally, truly hate.

Thanks for letting me know. I have it in a water bath to keep the temp down in the mid 60s in our basement. I was trying to get my beer done as I was also being distracted by two toddlers wanting dad to make muffins for them.
