I am working on an IPA recipe and plan on large amounts of hops in the late additions. I listened to a podcast featuring a brewer from deschutes and he said to double the amount of your bittering additions for your finishing hops.
This has me putting 4 oz at 5 min and 4 oz at flame out for an 11 gallon batch. Total hops for this recipe are 14 oz with 29Lbs of grist. I have never used this much. Does this seem normal or too much.

I had 14 oz hops with 14 lb grist for a 5 gal batch of my "Surely Furryous", then another 3 oz in as dryhopping....

Next time I'm using more. :D
