Went to the brew room to check on my triple an I found this! Needless to say it got a blowoff put on.

My apologies for the phone pic.

Caught it just in time. When those things clog, and finally blow in the middle of the night.....

I just cleaned this up a little while ago... Pitched yesterday around 4:30pm, found it like this today at 7pm (not sure exactly what time it happened, I just know it was between 7:45am when I left for work and 7pm when I got home).

    Pacman is a BEAST. :rockin:

Edit: Sorry to threadjack, but I was going to post basically the exact same thing. Looks like it's the day of crazy fermentations!

Happy and thirsty! I can deal with that! The sooner this triple finishes up, the better!

My first batch of IPA had a fairly violent fermentation in the first 24 hours. My girlfriend asked me why my fermentation bucket sounded pissed, and where there was sediment in the airlock. I reassured her it was totally alright, but then without telling her went to look it up online. Turns out that the clogged airlock, along with my VERY domed bucket top was fated to look like that second picture :D

Luckily enough, I caught it in time and made a blowoff valve so I didn't have a mess like the one above. Seeing that kinda hit close to home though, knowing what could have been :)

I just put the blow off on right after pitching so I never have to deal with this kind of nonsense... :)

I actually had to clamp the lid down. Mine blew the lid off again a few hours later, even after I put the blowoff on. Looks like i'll be upgrading to larger buckets.
