Yeah, that's wicked cheap. Wish I would have got it for that price.

$159 is the retail price for the Deluxe with Better Bottles. You put in the code at checkout I believe to see the 40% off discount.

Got that as an email unfortunately.. sort of ... I bought my deluxe kit at the beginning of June. I did take advantage of their 10% off until Aug 31 sale and bought some odds and ends and 2 extract kits. My problem is that I am brewing the second kit tomorrow and still have about 3 weeks left in Aug. Oh well I guess 4 brews, all unfinished, at the same time is enough.... Maybe......:D

Even if it weren't, the amount of stuff would make it a good deal.

If there is a code and it actually would take 40% off the $159.00, I would buy it for the BB's and a few other things in the kit.

When I got the bug I looked around. I liked the items included in the deluxe kit. I thought then, and still do that it was the most complete "deluxe kit" at the best price. I felt that I had everything that I "needed". I have since bought some additional items that I have "wanted". I will continue patronizing NB. I let my first brew ferment too warm for a day or two and used their live chat and got some great guidance. - very convienient.:)

What am I missing here? Is it $159.99 or is it 40% off $159.99?

I add it to my cart and it just shows the $159.99 but it looks like that is the price before discount. Is there a code? I have a friend that might be very interested in this if the price was right and I'd love to get him into brewing.

EDIT -- Google to the rescue, the code is "BrewNow".

    Subtotal $159.99
    Discount (BrewNow) -$64.00
    Grand Total $95.99

I got my first kit from a local homebrew shop for twelve dollars less than this -- difference being my kit had two buckets and a glass carboy rather than two carboys and a bucket and that my kit came with my choice of a brewers best ingredient kit.

    Both pretty good deals, IMO.

When I was shopping around, NB had the best deal as far as I could find when it came to a kit and what was included. Had the most bang for my buck and that was at REGULAR price. At 95 bucks, this thing is a steal.

I really want to thank everybody for posting this. I've been wanting to get into brewing for years and I can't pass this up for that price! Thanks again!
