Ok so I am making a Sam Summer ale clone...want to do it Saturday. I just got my 1000ml stater flask with foam stopper in the mail. The sure ale is 1.051 OG I am using East Coast Ale Yeast WLP008, I have one pound of DME.

How much water? How much DME and if I am making beer Saturday pitching the yeast at 1pm when should I start making it? I'm thinking tonight since I have to work tomorrow and will not be home until 7 or 8 pm?

Use that to determine how big of a starter you need. I use 100g of DME per liter of water. So if you need a .5 liter starter, use .5 liters of water and 50 grams of DME
