As the title states, I am looking for a good, light bodied beer for hot, summertime consumption. This will mainly be used for our annual summer parties.

I am already planning on using an American Wheat for one option, but am looking for something light for some of my other friends and family members to consume.

I currently can not lager, so that is not an option. Was thinking about a Kolsch, but would love to hear your opinions!

    Cheers!

I love a cream ale for summer- clean, crisp, lager-like, easy drinking. I make one every spring. A blonde would be my second choice.

I recommend the cream ale kit from Northern Brewer. I've made it about 4 or 5 times...always turns out great and I'm left wonder why it's always gone so quick.

    Cheers

Northern brewer Cream Ale and Patersbier. Very hard to beat and very easy to make.
    Everyone drinks the Cream Ale.
And believe it or not, Midwest Irish Stout. I have had more positve reviews on this kit than any other I have brewed.

If you bottle, make sure the Patersbier gets 6 ounces of priming sugar and let it sit in the bottle three weeks before serving.

    Cheers! Pez.

I just made the AHS Texas Blond Ale and it's very good. 4 weeks primary, 2 weeks bottle and it's great. Highly recommend it.

I brewed the Northern Brewer Pale Mild with great results. Very nice, light beer - wife is a big fan. Definitely a very easy drinker.

I'm curious how the regule Mild Ale Kit would turn out, I think this would also be a good choice as well.

I would definitely suggest 6+ weeks for both though, flavors really came through on the Pale Mild after 6 weeks.

I have to agree on the pale ales myself. A blonde would go down good as well.

I deleted the post since it does not make sense to recommend the AK47 pale mild.
