    Hi everyone!
I am trying to get started brewing. I have been reading about it to try and get familiar with it before I dive right in. I am wondering if anyone could push me in the right direction on getting a good starting kit.

How to Brew by John Palmer - google it.

other than that, its all personal preference. you can use plastic primary buckets with a glass secondary, glass primary and secondary, or glass or plastic primary and no secondary at all....

equipment is always a debated topic. read through at least 5 different brewing tutorials online and make an educated choice on your equipment for yourself. there is no "right" answer of what to use (the only exception is a hydrometer, use it!)

if i were you I'd go with Austin HomeBrew since you're in TX. i buy from midwest, but only because i get stuff at my door in 2 days.
