I had brewed a batch Monday and set the Carboy (PET) in my chest freezer to ferment. Upon waking up Tues I started my coffee and went to check on how the fermentation went over night. When I opened the freezer I seen no sign of activity, I quickly noticed my batch had frozen over before the fermentation started. My probe on my temp controller was out of the freezer causing it to freeze over. My question to all is, Is my batch going to be ok? Should I re-pitch more yeast after it thaws out? What would be the best mode of action for this? I have found threads talking about frozen kegs, but, how does this type occurrence effect the beer before fermentation?
