Flame mix

    Just a quick note about using propane burners: your ideal fuel/O2 mix will yield a flame that is cone-shaped, blue (with just a hint of orange at the tip) and touches the burner orifice. You can preserve your propane by using this guideline.

    YMMV, of course.

    Whether it not this will give you enough heat is another question, but this is the ideal mix in terms of fuel consumption.

    Interesting; I used my banjo burner for the first time 2 weeks ago and saw NO flame whatsoever. I only knew it was running because I saw the heat waves reflected on the ground. I boiled 10 gallons in about 45 minutes, valve cracked about 25%, no scortching. Are you using a dual jet burner of a multijet burner like a banjo?
