First iipa recipe

    Looking for some critique and advice:

    2oz of Columbus/Magnum @60min
    1oz of Columbus/Magnum @20min
    1oz of Columbus/Magnum @10min
    .50oz of Cascade @5min
    .50oz of Cascade @Flameout
    2oz of Cascade dry hop

    so... 2 oz of columbus and 2 oz of magnum at 60 min? or 1 oz or each?

    .50oz columbus/.50oz magnum 20min
    .50oz columbus/.50oz magnum 10min
    .50oz cascade 5min
    .50oz cascade flameout
    2oz cascade dry hop

    Looks very bitter, depending on what your projected OG is. I'm not wild about magnum in later additions, but I do like columbus and cascade. You need more hops in the cascade additions (.5 oz is really not much at all for an IIPA), and probably less at 60 minutes.

    More like this:
    1 oz 60 minutes (or to 40 IBUs or so with this addition)
    1 oz 15 minutes
    1 oz 10 minutes
    1 oz 5 minutes
    1 oz flame out
    dryhop 2 ounces

    You think it would be better if I cut out Magnum all together and just used columbus and cascade?

    Just use Magnum @ 60 minutes as it is a high Alpha bittering hop. Use the other 2 at 20 minutes or less for flavor/aroma.
