Well, I'm over the hump! Only an extract kit, but it's in the fermentor with bubbles showing up in my starsan bucket after only an hour. I do have one question about my blowoff tube. It seems to fit fairly snug, but since I'm super anal about contamination, would it be a bad idea to wrap it up with saran wrap or something of that sort? I'd like to secure it a bit better just to be safe, but not sure what to use.

Oops, one more thing: my OG was supposed to be 1.090, but I used too much water & it was 1.087. Should this minor amount be something to watch or is it close enough?

Don't worry about saran wrap. It's fine.
.003 difference in OG is meaningless.

Pop open a bottle and begin waiting. :)

No worries about the additional water or saran wrap. As for "only an extract kit", it will be a great beer regardless of whether you did all grain or extract.
