Hey guys. First all grain batch, third overall batch. Started with 2.75 gals in the fermenter, OG 1.050 on Saturday the 11th. Pitched an entire vial of wlp002. Just picked up a new refractometer and calibrated it. First measurement yesterday was 8 brix, today was 7.1. Thought maybe it would be done moving that fast by now? Is it possible I have a problem with my refractometer?

    Thanks!

Not a problem with the refractometer per se, but a problem with using a refractometer once fermentation is under way. Once alcohol is present, your refractometer is not accurate (ethanol has different refractive properties than wort). You can use a correction calculator or use a hydrometer.
