Would a person run into problems with oxidation etc. when fermenting a 3 gallon batch in a 5 or 6 gallon bucket? Is this even an issue?

Shouldn't be an issue at all for primary fermentation because the yeast will produce enough CO2 to shield the beer from O2 pretty quickly.
