I know that if you use a fermentation bucket for a lambic, it can only ever again be used for more lambic. Is the same true for Ciders? I was unable to find this information. I assume that there is a level of wild strains in the juice already, which is what contaminates the buckets on lambics... so I assume it to be true. Thanks.

With a thorough enough cleaning and sanitizing regiment you can reuse your buckets from lambic to "normal" brews. However, some people choose not to risk 5 gallons of a beer to something that can be easily avoided by not reusing the equipment.

Nothing wrong with reusing cider equipment for beer equipment either. The only strain that is living in your cider is the yeast you pitched in there. It has taken over.
