I recently killed a mini fridge while modding for a friend. Seems awfully wasteful to throw in the landfill. What are your thoughts on using it as a warm fermentation chamber? I currently have no way to hit high fermenting temps, and figure since this is insulated, I could use it to warm and hit higher temps.

I am unsure how I could safely heat within it, but am open to suggestions too.

If this is a terrible idea, don't be shy

    Thanks all.

You can hear with a light bulb in a paint can. I use a reptile blanket to heat mine though.

I heat in my fridge with a cheap hair dryer, hooked up to a dual STC-1000

I did this in my first ferm chamber until it caught on fire!
I now use a ceramic heat bulb (no light emitted). Very efficient and much safer.
I have it connected to a dual stage Ranco controller.
