Emptying the tun

    I've done 4 AG's so far. On two of them, I tilted the tun to empty the mash and did the same with the sparge water. Hit all my marks. The other two I did not, just adjusted sparge to account for the dead space and hit my marks.

    Is one method recommended over the other?

    Personally, I wouldn't fret about it. Unless your dead space is a gallon or more, it shouldn't mess with your numbers either way that much. Just my 2cents.
