Does stainless retain flavor?

    So I have a 5 gallon pot and my wife boiled eggs in it. Think it will retain any of that flavor, or could I use it for brewing??

    It shouldn't, just make sure you give it a good clean with hot PBW and you'll be good to go.

    I don't know why but this struck me as pretty funny. Maybe the first thought that went through my mind was egg flavored beer. Easter Bunny bock?

    I believe you will be fine.

    I have use the same pot for lobster, chili, stews etc. I just wash well. I have never noticed any "flavor" getting into the beer.

    Don't waste money on any fancy cleaners, just use dish soap and rinse well....

    My stainless pots always taste of steel for some reason.

    Ahh... but does it taste like 304 or 201 stainless?:tank:
